We meet on the 2nd Friday of each month at the Lads’ Club, Rectory Lane, CT21 4PZ in Saltwood. Our meetings generally start at 10 am and finish by 12 noon. We begin with the President’s welcome, news and updates from both our Secretary and Treasurer. After the business part of the meeting we have plenty of time for coffee, cake and all important chat before settling down to listen to our speaker of the month. Talks are varied and reflect the wide interests of our members. Each month we also run a raffle and a competition. In addition we have a well supplied sales table selling a selection of crafts, plants and books.
We try to provide activities for everyone and are always open to new suggestions. Our regular outings have been as far afield as the Royal Albert Hall and also to the nearer Bilsington Priory. Members can attend East Kent Federation events such as the Autumn Craft Day in Chartham. We run short courses on flower arranging and more regular activities like the T’ai Chi and Walking groups, as well as the popular lunch group and our annual Christmas lunch. Do have a look at our ‘what we do’ pages for details of all our activities.
At present we have in total 78 members who are a very sociable, welcoming and friendly bunch. At any one meeting between 40 to 60 members will be present to meet old friends and make new ones.
