After the 10 October meeting some members and guests stayed on for a soup lunch

Our thanks go to the soup makers Christine F, Mary W and Julie A.

August- Fish and chips

On 8 August 21 members met on Hythe promenade for our annual fish and chip lunch washed down with Prosecco or fruit juice.

Our thanks go to Dawn and Sarah for organising such a pleasant lunch and to Wendy for handling the finances.

June – Summer outing

On a blustery Summer afternoon 20 members visited Bilsington Priory, where we were given a very interesting tour followed by a delicious cream tea.

On our behalf, Christine thanked Daphne for organising such a pleasant afternoon outing.

April – Biddy’s Bluebell Walk.

On 28 April we met once again at Biddy’s home in the Elham valley to visit her Bluebell woods.

Neil gave us a short but very interesting illustrated talk about war time events at the location.

We then ventured into the 5 1/2 acres of Bluebell woods.

Unfortunately with the warm and very dry Spring the bluebells weren’t quite so prolific this year

But the orchids were still thriving in the dappled sun light.

Afterwards we were able to sit outside in the very warm Spring sunshine to enjoy coffee and delicious chocolate biscuits. £47 was raised in donations to go to a charity of Biddy’s choice.

We thank both Biddy and Neil for their hospitality.
