December – Christmas lunch
On 18 December 44 members and their guests met at Sotirios in Folkestone for our annual Christmas lunch.

Thanks to Elisa, Maggie and Romany for organising the well supported raffle.

As before the food was delicious and plentiful and service excellent
Thanks also to Ros for making the place cards and finally to Julia for all her hard work organising the lunch for us all.
A great way to start the Christmas holiday !

October – Soup lunch
On 11 October members stayed on after the monthly meeting to enjoy a warm bowl of homemade leek and potato soup served with a roll and butter. We were joined by 2 guests – the very helpful partners who put out the chairs and tables for us each month.
Our thanks go to Elisa, her team of servers and to those who made the soup.

August – Fish and Chips on Hythe Prom
On 9 August over 20 members met at lunch time on Hythe prom to enjoy delicious fish and chips washed down by Prosecco or fruit juice. The weather was kind to us with lots of sun and a bit of a stiff seaside breeze to keep us all cool.

Many thanks go to Dawn for organising the food from the Seafarer in Cheriton – excellent fish and chips and delivered to us at the beach. Also to Elisa for the liquid refreshments and of course to Wendy for handling the bookings and payments.
July – Summer Outing
On 10 July 21 members visited Goodnestone gardens for the afternoon. Very luckily, after the weather in recent days, we had lovely sunny if breezy afternoon walking around the beautiful gardens .

Followed by delicious tea and cake in the garden’s café.

Our thanks go to Romany for organising such a perfect English Summer outing.
May – Ploughman’s lunch
After our May monthly meeting 33 members sat down to a delicious cheese ploughman’s lunch washed down with fruit juices.

Our thanks go to Elisa and her team for all their efforts

April – Biddy’s Bluebell Walk.

On Monday 22 April Biddy very kindly offered to host us at her home in Elham to enjoy a stroll around their woods to see the beautiful bluebells, wood anemones and orchids on display.

After giving us a guided tour of the woods Neil showed us the worked flints that archaeologists had unearthed in the woods.

As the sun stayed out some members were able to sit outside having their refreshments while others sat inside.
Once again a very enjoyable time was had by all. Our thanks go to both Biddy and Neil for being such welcoming hosts.
