The Adoption of the Report was proposed by Margaret Alcock and seconded by Margaret Gradden and accepted unanimously by the members. Kate Dilks thanked Lynda for her work.

Secretary Daphne Gazeley presented the Committee’s Annual Report outlining the various events and activities we had enjoyed since the last Annual Meeting. Obviously because of Covid-19 everything changed after March 23rd when the country went into lockdown, but Castle Green have had 5 Zoom meetings.

President Margaret Alcock then presented the President’s Address and took the opportunity to thank the committee for their unstinting support during the past months and thanked the members for their support and messages of encouragement. She highlighted 2 advantages of Zoom meetings. Parking isn’t a problem and the weather isn’t a problem!

The president then proposed the adoption of the Committee’s Annual Report which was seconded by Romany Cowans and accepted unanimously by the members.

Margaret Alcock will continue as President for the next year. Daphne Gazeley was thanked for her work as Secretary and Christine Burgoyne was welcomed as the new Secretary. Daphne will be Assistant Secretary. Kay Hygate thanked the committee on behalf of the members.

After a short break we continued with our normal monthly meeting. The business was dealt with thoroughly but quickly and we then welcomed our very own Valerie Humphries who gave a flower arranging demonstration.

For the first arrangement Valerie used dried flowers and grasses and she explained how to dry the flowers. The second arrangement had a Harvest theme using fresh flowers and fruit. As an added extra Valerie took us on a short tour to show us her beautiful Cyclamens.

Marjorie Mitchell gave the vote of thanks for an excellent demonstration which was heartily endorsed by everyone.
