President Julie Andrews welcomed 37 members plus 4 guests. The hostesses, Sarah H, Carol K and Sue C were thanked, and Mary W for her lovely flower arrangement.
Last month at the craft session some members had made elves which they had finished at home and then brought them into the meeting for their photo opportunity.
During the business meeting , as this will be gave Elisa’s last meeting – she is moving away, members gave her a big clap to thank her for all her work over the past few years running the kitchen.
Barbara was similarly thanked for running the Sales table for us.
After an extended coffee break in which we all also enjoyed a seasonal glass of mulled wine, warm mince pies and stollen the special Christmas Raffle with many prizes was drawn.
Then we all settled down to listen to a very interesting talk by Mike Davis about the magic circle – followed by a demonstration of his skills.
Nicki spent some time examining the rope but neither she nor we could spot how the tricks worked.
During his show Mike had several ‘glamorous assistants’ .
At the end of a vey enjoyable Christmas meeting Kay gave the Vote of thanks.
