President Margaret Alcock welcomed twenty-one members and a one visitor, an elf, to the Zoom December meeting. Members were appropriately attired in Christmas jumpers, hats and even crowns. Several apologies were accepted, and the minutes of the last meeting read and signed.
Julie Andrews reported that the Blog was still being well used and that she had updated the website as usual.
Having dealt with the business section of the meeting, there was a break for a chat, mince pies, mulled wine or whatever one wanted. Usually, the committee provide the Christmas refreshments, but sadly not this year.
We all settled down and Kay Hygate showed us how to make an angel Christmas tree decoration. Members had been sent the template and list of items needed so we were all prepared. Kay took us through it step by step until with a final flourish we all showed off our angels. Up to this point there had not been much chatting or laughing because we were all concentrating on making an angel but now ….! The angels were all quite different but all lovely.
We put away the angels, coloured pencils etc and took hold of our paper napkins/serviettes as Barbara Thorburn showed us how to fold them into different shapes. Barbara made this look easy, but we all managed to do at least one and Barbara was very patient with us. The gallery below shows some of our efforts.
Margaret Alcock thanked Kay and Barbara for leading us in these fun and festive activities.
